Pakistan’s sports star Babar Azam has been featured in the sports part of a grade eight Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) textbook.
Babar’s inclusion simply serves to highlight his rising notoriety as one of history’s top cricketers.
Cricket is the most popular sport in India, and the players are celebrities, according to the question in the book based on cricketers’ nicknames.

Do you know what your favourite cricketers’ Nicknames are? The students were asked to match the cricket players with their corresponding nicknames. One of the solutions also mentions Babar’s nick name, “Bobby.”
Pak Twitterati and cricket fans erupted in jubilation and excitement as pictures of Babar playing alongside some of India’s most well-known cricketers, like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar, spread on social media.
It may be recalled here that last year, a question on Babar’s famous cover drive was also included in a Pakistani Grade 9 Physics Textbook.
“Babar Azam has hit a cover drive by given kinetic energy of 150J to the ball by his bat. a) At what speed will the ball go the boundary if the mass of the ball is 120g? b) How much kinetic energy footballer must impart to a football of mass 450g to make it move at this speed?” read the question that was widely shared on social media platforms.
