‘Ask Shoaib Malik’: Sania Mirza shuts down personal question from journalist

Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis star, recently gave a fitting reply to a journalist who asked how she manages to balance her career and motherhood. This came amid the rumors of her and her husband, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, getting a divorce.

During a media event, the journalist asked Mirza how she handles being a mother and a professional athlete at the same time. In response, Mirza confidently stated that she manages things the same way her husband does and added that she would answer the question only after it was asked to Malik.

“Like how he [Shoaib Malik] manages things, I also manage in similar way. If you ask Shoaib Malik the same question, then I will also give you an answer,” Sania said.

It’s worth noting that Mirza retired from tennis earlier this year, ending her career at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, India, where she first started. Since then she has mentored the women’s team of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, helping them handle the pressure of playing at higher level.

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik tied the knot in April 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhaan, in October 2018.

Over the past six months, there have been rumors circulating about divorce between Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza, as the couple has not shared any photos or videos of themselves together on social media for a significant period of time, which has raised concerns about the state of their relationship.
