Former media personality Lauren Sanchez climbed new heights of fame when she started dating the founder of Amazon and Blue Origin Jeff Bezos in 2019, before their formal engagement in 2023.
Previously she was not in the spotlight for her relationships despite dating influential people including sportsmen and anchors.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s affair started when the billionaire was still with Mackenzie Scott, with whom he was married for 25 years.
The 54-year-old former journalist’s first relationship was with a radio broadcaster Rory Markas when she was an intern at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles likely from 1992 to 1994, according to Page Six.
Sánchez left Markas when she got a new job at KTVK, reported the outlet. He died in 2010 at the age of 54.
She then started seeing and later engaged with a retired NFL star Anthony Miller.
According to news reports, they met in 1996 at the Super Bowl, when he played for the Denver Broncos and Sanchez was a TV presenter.
They broke up in 2000 and she then became associated with another NFL star, Tony Gonzalez. According to The List, they welcomed a son named Nikko Gonzalez in February 2001 and then broke apart.
Afterwards, she was reportedly involved with LA Lakers player Derek Fisher for a year, the outlet said, adding that she later started a relationship with actor Henry Simmons, best known for his roles in ABC’s NYPD Blue and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sánchez left Simmons and the exact dates of their relationship remain unknown. After breaking engagement with actor, she got along with Patrick Whitesell, the executive chairman of the Endeavor Talent Agency, with whom she married in 2005. The couple has two children in their 13 years of marriage.
People magazine reported that Whitesell introduced her wife to Bezos in 2016 and their relationship started to get along when the couple decided to separate.
She was also hired by Bezos as a helicopter pilot for his aerospace company.
Whitesell and Sánchez were formally divorced in 2019.
