The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, renewed its plea for donor countries to reverse their decisions to suspend at least $440 million in funding to the organization, saying that nearly 2 million people depended on it “for their sheer survival.” The United States, Britain, Germany, Australia and Japan are among 16 countries to pause financial support for the agency over Israeli accusations that several staff members had participated in Hamas’s Oct. 7 attacks against Israel.
