The Israeli military said its forces have battled Hamas militants “in close-quarters combat” in Khan Younis in southern Gaza in recent days, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to press on with the war despite mounting calls for a cease-fire. “This will be a long war.
