Preventing shoplifting can be a challenging task for many business owners, especially on busy days. If you run a food and beverage store where edible items are displayed on shelves without any security tags, the challenge becomes even greater. However, a fruit seller in Bangladesh has come up with a brilliant way to protect the grapes he sells from being snatched by passengers on moving trains. How? By taking the matter into his own hands. A video shared by a Reddit user shows a fruit stall set up right next to a railway track. The stall is so close to the track that passengers can easily reach out and grab the bunches of grapes hanging in front of it. To prevent this, the fruit vendor has devised a unique plan.
The video depicts the vendor standing guard as a train passes by, holding a long knife in one hand and a bunch of grapes in the other, seemingly threatening potential thieves. Additionally, another man stands next to the vendor with a stick, further deterring theft. As soon as the train passes, both men return inside their shop.
