The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall Of Famer, Dalip Singh Rana, better known as The Great Khali, was seen boasting his cricket skills in a video that has gone viral on social media, NDTV reported.
In the clip, Khali receives a back-of-a-length delivery and plays a one-handed shot on it, sending the ball a long way over the extra cover fence for a super six.
“The ball would have reached to mars if he hit with both hands,” wrote a fan.
“Wow, who knew that The Great Khali could be a cricket star too?” read another comment.
“Virat Khali,” wrote a user.
The 51-year-old professional Indian wrestler crossed paths with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in Ahmedabad during the Cricket World Cup last year.
This time, however, while the other Indian players were in Chennai ahead of their campaign opener against Australia, Rohit was in Ahmedabad for the pre-World Cup captains’ meet at the Narendra Modi Stadium where he met the former WWE wrestler.
Later, Khali also shared an Instagram story in which he was seen wearing the “Biggest Cricket Fan” tag.
Furthermore, the Indian cricket team is now awaiting the selectors’ announcement of the squad for the last three matches of the ongoing five-match Test series against England amid reports of injuries to key players including KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja.
The selectors will announce after getting clarity over Jadeja’s fitness.
England, who won the series opener by 28 runs, have flown back to Abu Dhabi before the third Test in Rajkot, which will begin on February 15.
India will assemble in Rajkot on February 11 and England is expected to reach there a day after.
