Two players in running to replace Sarfaraz Ahmed as Quetta Gladiators’ captain

Quetta Gladiators are currently deliberating on the future of Sarfaraz Ahmed as the captain of their team, as per a report from ESPNCricinfo.

The prevailing sentiment within the franchise is leaning towards a decision to replace him, thereby concluding his eight-year tenure as the team’s leader.

The report suggests that Rilee Rossouw, who recently rejoined the Gladiators after playing for Multan Sultans, and Saud Shakeel are emerging as strong contenders for the captaincy.

Despite initially naming Sarfaraz as their captain during the PSL draft day, there is a possibility of a change before the upcoming season kicks off in February.

The report highlights that the input of Shane Watson, the newly-appointed head coach of the team, will be considered in this matter, and he reportedly favors a change in leadership.

Quetta Gladiators have already made adjustments to their coaching staff, with Moin Khan transitioning from the head coach position to a director role. Furthermore, former Pakistan bowling coach Shaun Tait has taken on the role of the team’s fast-bowling coach.
