Pakistan arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed India’s Virat Kohli in the Group A match of the 2023 Asia Cup between Pakistan and India on Saturday.
Kohli was dismissed only at four runs when a good length ball from Shaheen first hit his bat and then changed the direction towards the stumps. Kohli became the victim of an inside edge on it.
While talking about Kohli’s dismissal to a sports channel, former Indian pacer S Sreesanth stated that it was only Pakistan’s luck that got them Kohli’s wicket and that, for him, it doesn’t count as a wicket.
“It was unfortunate for India. Pakistan were lucky to get Virat Kohli’s wicket because it was an inside edge. I don’t count it as a wicket. I know him personally, which is why I know what would have been going through his mind after seeing Pakistan’s celebration. I am just waiting for the next India-Pakistan match,” said Sreesanth.
Shaheen picked three wickets more other than Kohli, including that of India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja. However, the match was called off due to adverse weather conditions, with India and Pakistan receiving 1 and 3 points respectively.
