Sarfaraz stands firm on Pakistan’s batting prowess despite Australia’s firepower

Pakistan’s Test wicketkeeper-batter, Sarfaraz Ahmed, drew inspiration from the West Indies legend Chris Gayle’s monumental innings, setting the tone for Pakistan’s upcoming four-day clash against PM XI in Canberra.

Reflecting on Gayle’s remarkable 200-run performance against Zimbabwe at Manuka Oval, in a recent media interaction, Sarfaraz expressed excitement about the significant test series opener.

“I remember watching Chris Gayle’s incredible innings of 200 runs against Zimbabwe at Manuka Oval. Now, as we brace ourselves for a four-day clash in Canberra against Australia, the weather seems to be good. This match holds an immense significance as it kickstarts the three-match test series against the formidable Australian team,” Sarfaraz Ahmed said.

Emphasizing the potency of Pakistan’s batting lineup, the wicketkeeper-batter is prepared for a robust challenge, as the formidable batting order stands on par with any other lineup.

“Australia boasts good batters, but we are no less. With Abdullah, Babar, Imam, Saud, and Agha in our ranks, we are well-equipped for the challenge,” he said.

Recognizing the skills of the national team bowling lineup, the former captain commended crucial team members.

“Shaheen and Hasan are exceptional, and we have the likes of Mir Hamza, Khurram Shehzad, and Fahim, who have proven their mettle in domestic competitions,” Sarfaraz said.

Sarfaraz also took a moment to extend his congratulations to Shan Masood for his leadership role in the team.

“It’s always an honor to lead your country, and I want to congratulate Shan Masood for his role. The camaraderie between Babar Azam, Muhammad Hafeez, and Shan Masood is a testament to the strong bond within our camp,” he said.

He also expressed his contentment with contributing to the team’s success in any capacity.

“I am happy to play any role – whether as a batter or a wicket-keeper – in contributing to the success of the team,” he concluded.
