Tesla CEO Elon Musk is one step closer to getting into the ring after his popular social media site announced the upcoming launch of a new series with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

WWE has partnered with X, formerly known as Twitter, for a two-year deal to air timed matches that will be done in five minutes or less as part of a show known as WWE Speed, The Sun (US) reported.

According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter, the show will also be aired live to tape and is set to debut in the spring, featuring exclusive content not found or repurposed in other WWE programming.

WWE Speed will showcase some of the company’s most prominent names, with shows airing weekly and fans can expect timed matches for 52 weeks straight with wrestlers from all three WWE brands: RAW, Smackdown, and NXT.

The wrestling organisation’s latest move comes after it recently renewed its broadcast and network deals, signing a five-year deal with The CW Network in November, marking the first time the network will show wrestling content on the platform since its last broadcast of WWE SmackDown in 2008.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, The CW will increase the NXT’s reach to 100 million American homes.

Last month, WWE announced that Monday Night Raw would be moving to Netflix for the first time since it began 31 years ago, starting in 2025 and costing the company over $5 billion, marking the first time the show has been off linear television.

Meanwhile, X is still experimenting with streaming services on its website; the social networking platform already has agreements in place for shows with Jim Rome, a sports talk host, and Don Lemon, a former CNN host.
