Sherfane Rutherford, the Windies batter for Quetta Gladiators, has departed from the squad ahead of the remaining matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine due to family reasons, as per sources.Â
Rutherford was absent from Quetta’s recent match against Peshawar Zalmi. However, according to sources, there’s a possibility of his return if Quetta qualifies for the playoffs.
During PSL 9, Rutherford showcased his prowess with the bat, accumulating 151 runs in six innings at a striking rate of 148.03.Â
Notably, he played a crucial role in Quetta’s thrilling victory over Karachi Kings, scoring a rapid 58 off 31 balls, featuring six sixes and a boundary. Alongside Akeal Hosein, Rutherford steered Quetta’s chase from a precarious position of 89 for five.
Quetta Gladiators are on the brink of playoff qualification, needing just one more win from their remaining two matches. They will face Lahore Qalandars next at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
