India’s participation in Champions Trophy 2025

Addressing the matter of the Indian cricket team’s participation in the Champions Trophy, Naqvi reiterated that the ICC’s involvement is crucial.

“We have written to the ICC, and we are awaiting their response. Our contact remains with them, and we remain hopeful,” he said. He further reiterated that sports and politics should be kept separate, emphasizing that the decision regarding the participation of the Indian team should not be clouded by political issues.

Naqvi also made it clear that the reputation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is at stake.

“The ICC will have to think about its reputation,” he remarked, underlining the significance of ensuring a smooth and diplomatic process for all participating nations.
