Sam Altman, Oliver Mulherin exchange rings at alter while dressed entirely in white
Sam Altman, the well-known chief executive of OpenAI married Oliver Mulherin at his “$43 million Hawaii estate” in a heartwarming ceremony.
Gorgeous images from the small-scale wedding in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Island, went viral on social media on Thursday. Altman gave NBC confirmation of the good news.
The couple is seen in the photos exchanging rings at the alter while dressed entirely in white.
Another depicts the pair doing a traditional Jewish wedding custom of stomping on a glass that has been wrapped in a serviette.
The 38-year-old Altman made headlines at the end of last year when he was fired from OpenAI, the firm that created ChatGPT, only to be brought back a few days later following a staff uprising.
Prior to last year, the CEO had a far lower profile, but he made more public appearances, including testifying before Congress on the future of artificial intelligence.
Business Insider verified the authenticity of the wedding photos that were circulating online, which seem to have been taken from Altman’s personal Instagram story.
Mulherin was once employed at Meta and is a software engineer by trade.
He was born in Australia and graduated from the University of Melbourne with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
